Bordeaux is best known for its reds, but the region also produces increasingly respected dry whites, particularly from areas like Entre-Deux-Mers and Graves, where gravel-rich, well-drained soils are ideally suited to crisp, mineral-driven Sauvignon Blanc. Sauvignon Blanc has deep roots in Bordeaux, accounting for a large share of the region's white plantings, and thrives here on cool, well-watered sites that intensify its natural aromatics.

This Mickael Gelder bottle carries the Bordeaux appellation, the broadest and most flexible of the region's designations, covering both red and white wines made under Bordeaux's standard production rules. Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, it's typically fermented without oak to preserve the grape's natural freshness and let its varietal character come through clearly. Expect the grape's signature aromatic markers: citrus, boxwood, and fig leaf, layered over a pale, luminous straw-yellow color, with bright acidity and a delicate mineral edge that gives the wine real tension and lift.

The result is a clean, energetic expression of Bordeaux Sauvignon Blanc: less about oak or richness, and more about the freshness and precision the grape is capable of when grown on the right soil.
