Wine Description
Founded in 1981 in the Mâconnais, Domaine Thierry Drouin is a family estate now led by Thierry and his son Charles. Across 10 hectares of clay and limestone soils, they cultivate Chardonnay with a philosophy centered on respect for nature and terroir. Ploughing replaces chemical weed control, Guyot pruning supports vine longevity, and treatments are kept to a minimum. Hand harvesting, gentle pressing, gravity fed transfers, and aging on fine lees in oak preserve purity and site expression, resulting in wines that reflect the character of southern Burgundy with clarity and balance.
The 2022 Plaisance captures this approach beautifully. Floral aromas mingle with citrus and ripe yellow fruit, while the palate offers freshness, mineral tension, and a lively lemon finish. A subtle roundness from malolactic fermentation adds softness without sacrificing vibrancy, making this an elegant, authentic Mâcon-Villages Chardonnay to enjoy now.
