Wine Description
In the heart of Languedoc and overseeing the town of Minerve lies Domaine Vordy with its old vines of 100 year old Carignan, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Didier and Helene Vordy left their desk jobs in the 70’s to take over the vines originally owned by Helene’s father. Didier is not only an accomplished wine maker, but he is also the mayor of Minerve, a charming fortified town full of incredible history. Now, their son Thibault is slowly taking over the family business, crafting well-balanced wines full of fruit and spice.
This wine begins with 24 hours of cold skin-contact maceration, followed by low temperature fermentation. The wine is aged three months in tanks with regular stirring.
An elegant nose, fruity and flowery, with pear and hawthorn essences; a generous mouth feel with both volume and nervousness.
