Domaine de la Ronze is a family-run estate in Régnié-Durette, in the heart of Beaujolais, with roots going back to 1850. Now run by the Bernardo family, Séraphin and his children Cyrille and Karine, the domaine farms 17 hectares with respect for the surrounding environment. Grapes are hand-harvested and vinified traditionally, with the family bottling and selling its entire harvest directly rather than through outside distributors.

This 2023 bottle carries the Régnié appellation, one of the ten Beaujolais Crus and the youngest, only elevated to Cru status in 1988, known for its granite and pink sandstone soils. Made from Vieilles Vignes Gamay, old vines that concentrate flavor and depth beyond a standard Beaujolais bottling, it's vinified using the traditional semi-carbonic maceration common to the region, preserving bright fruit while adding structure. Expect a juicy red with cherry and red berry character, soft tannins, and more backbone than simpler Beaujolais styles.

The result is a Cru Beaujolais with real substance, made by a family that's farmed this same corner of the region for generations.
