Domaine de Font-Sane has been a family-run estate since 1860, set in the heart of Gigondas beneath the dramatic limestone cliffs of the Dentelles de Montmirail. The estate takes its name from Fontsaine, a terraced site on the heights of the village meaning "healthy fountain." Véronique Cunty-Peysson and her husband Bernard now run the 16-hectare property, farming sustainably with organic compost across five distinct terroirs of clay-limestone, pebbly sand, alluvium, and sandy loam, with their son Romain handling the commercial side after completing a master's in international wine business.

This 2023 bottle carries the Gigondas appellation, one of the most prestigious crus of the southern Rhône, first granted its own appellation status in 1971. Tradition is primarily Grenache with Syrah, Mourvèdre, and a touch of Cinsault, fermented with temperature control and punching of the cap over 21 days, then aged 8 months in oak casks. Expect a bright garnet color, aromas of clove, licorice, and ripe berries, and a concentrated palate with fine tannins and real length.

The result is a classic, generous expression of Gigondas built for the table and for a decade or more in the cellar.
