This family-run estate lies above the tiny hamlet of Saint Marcel d’Ardeche on terraced plots. Vestiges of a Roman outpost have been found throughout the vineyards indicating wine has been produced here for many centuries.
The owner is a descendant of nine generations of wine growers. Using sustainable farming techniques, Jean-Luc and Marie-Lise craft, with loving hands, wines on land once cultivated by the Romans.
Their Syrah spends 12 months in 2-year-old barrels. It delivers plenty of sweet black raspberries, spice-box, crushed flowers and cedar qualities as well as a medium-bodied, clean and nicely focused profile on the palate.
