Domaine de la Ronze traces its roots back to 1850, when Françoise Troncy married Antoine Geoffray, beginning a winemaking lineage that their descendants carried forward for generations. The estate as it exists today was formally established by Claudius Lathuillière, starting from a modest first vintage of just 1,500 bottles before growing into the respected Beaujolais producer it is now. The domaine sits in the heart of Beaujolais, farming across the well-regarded crus of Régnié and Morgon, where the vineyards benefit from the region's characteristic granite and schist soils.

This 2023 bottling carries the Régnié appellation, the youngest of the ten Beaujolais crus, prized for wines that combine the freshness of Beaujolais-Villages with a touch more depth and structure. Made from 100% Gamay grown on old vines ("vieilles vignes"), the wine draws extra concentration and complexity from root systems that have had decades to establish themselves in the region's sandy, granite-heavy soils. Expect a bright ruby color, aromas of crushed red berries and violet, and a supple, juicy palate with fine tannins and lively acidity, true to Régnié's reputation as an approachable, food-friendly cru.

The result is an elegant, old-vine expression of Régnié from a domaine with over 150 years of Beaujolais winemaking history behind it.
