Villa Noria is a family-owned, single-estate winery in the Languedoc, near Pézenas, spanning 75 hectares farmed organically and certified by Ecocert. The estate leans heavily into sustainability: hedges and trees are planted throughout the vineyard to support biodiversity and reduce its carbon footprint, and many of its wines, including this one, are made without any added sulfites under the Vin Méthode Nature label. Villa Noria also runs a bottle-reuse program with a local partner, washing and reconditioning bottles rather than sending them for recycling.
This 2022 bottle is labeled Vin de France rather than a formal appellation, which is common for natural, low-intervention wines that fall outside strict AOC rules. It's a Pét-Nat, short for pétillant naturel, made by bottling the wine before fermentation finishes so bubbles form naturally inside the bottle, with no added yeast, dosage, or disgorgement. Made from 100% Pinot Noir, hand-harvested at night to preserve freshness, it's light-bodied and unfiltered, with notes of red berry, crisp apple, and citrus zest, plus a lively, fine mousse.
The result is a playful, honest natural sparkling wine built for easy, casual drinking rather than formal occasions.
